The plastic-covered heels didn't help much, either. A bevy of models came crashing down at the end of the runway, thanks to a puddle of water someone left there.
A real-life Showgirls moment ruined designer Mikhael Kale’s showing at Toronto Fashion Week Monday night, where a bevy of models came crashing down at the end of the runway, thanks to a puddle of water someone left there.
Toronto’s CP24 reports: A lineup of models sporting different designs were lined up on the catwalk. As each model approached a certain spot at the end of the runway, they slipped. Some merely lost their footing while others wiped out, dropping clear out of the camera’s view. The models’ footwear may also have been a factor, with many sporting clear plastic leggings that extended over the feet.
It would be fun to think the puddle was placed there by a vengeful model who was passed up during casting, but that’s probably not the case. Though an official source of the puddle has yet to be investigated, several media outlets reported it had rained throughout the day and some of the tents were leaking.
No serious injuries were reported, so, scorned model, wherever you are - you’re going to have to try harder next time.
